Introductions — A320_Flyerboy19

The Infinite Flight Herald team has been working hard throughout November to bring you this edition. Since the October article, we have added a new story topic this month. You’ll still get to read about the WIP updates on the A220 aircraft build, top feature requests, and best screenshots, but we have some new and exciting ones.

You can now read about and a New VA/VO CEO interview. Please note that we will add more stories when we have more writers to help for the month.

New Infinite Flight Staff Member — A320_Flyerboy19

KaiM has been added as a part-time staff member of Infinite Flight. Kai will help Jason and Cameron streamline Infinite Flight’s web deployment and some longer-term backend projects.

Kai has been programming websites since age 11. He has always had a passion for aviation all of his life. Kai is on his way to get his way to his Recreational Pilot’s License.

We can’t wait to see what Kai helps Infinite Flight with! As Jason said, though, “You won’t always know when you’re seeing Kai’s handiwork.”

Read the full announcement here.

Find Kai’s account here.

21.7 Update Review — A320_Flyerboy19

Infinite Flight released 21.7 on November 23rd, 2021. 21.7 brings 12 new 3D airports to the game along with taxi lines on the map at the airport and 3 new languages. Jason did specify that the only TOFAQ (the only frequently asked question) is the A220 in this update. Jason said, “No.”

Major new airports include EGKK (London Gatwick), KSEA (Seattle-Tacoma Intl), KCHS (Charleston Air Force Base / Intl), KBWI (Baltimore / Wash Thurgood Marsha). There were smaller airports too, PHTO (Hilo Intl), MMSD (Los Cabos Intl), YBCG (Gold Coast), and WAHI (Internasional Yogyakarta).

When you land or depart an airport in the fog or at night in Infinite Flight, you know that it is hard to see! Now at the airport where your plane is, you’ll see these yellow lines if you look on the map. Those are the new taxi line features. In my opinion, they will be handy for night taxing and fog!

Three new languages have been added to Infinite Flight, translated by community members. German was translated by Marc Hostettler, Moritz Babl, Portuguese was translated by HenriqueChen, and Malay was translated by LordWizrak.

WIP Updates — AviatorAlex

Astonishing progress has been made on the Airbus A220–300 since last month’s article. The developers have shared numerous pictures on their Instagram and Twitter pages, as well as on the official Infinite Flight streams, over the last month, showing the jaw-dropping level of detail they put into their craft. It has also been announced that the Airbus A220 will come with a custom sound pack, but unfortunately, not at the time of release, due to some complications with receiving the sound pack on Infinite Flight’s end — which was announced by Laura during the latest FNF stream on November 26th. They have, however, confirmed that the sound pack will come in a subsequent update once they can get it. Despite that, an updated sound pack will come for it — the default one, with an improved startup sound and an APU sound. The A220 will also come with a fully modeled cabin, operational doors, and entirely new screen designs to fit the real aircraft. The planned release is with the 21.8 update — meaning there is around one month for some finishing touches to be done. All of that was also announced on the November 26th FNF stream. This is the latest WIP photo shared. The original can be found here.

Infinte Flight also just published a new WIP video of the A220 screens in action view it here:

Top Feature Requests — AviatorAlex

Boeing 767 Soft Rework

With the topic of reworks being a pretty hot one recently and the feature request thread being quite popular since its creation, I chose it as one of the top feature requests for the month. If you want to see the Boeing 767 get a soft rework in the simulator, vote for it here.

E190 Amaszonas CP-3130

Next up is an Embraer E190 livery request. With Infinite Flight recently announcing they will rework the Embraer E175 and E190 variants, the popularity of feature requests for those two aircraft skyrocketed. I chose this livery as its addition in the simulator upon the E190 rework would boost the popularity of an underrated region in Infinite Flight. If you would like to see this livery in the simulator, vote for it here.

New VA/VO CEO Interview — A320_Flyerboy19 — Avianca Virtual

This month we interviewed the Avianca Virtual CEO — JetWig. Avianca Virtual is one of the newest virtual airlines in the IFVARB database.

Q. Can you introduce yourself and what your role is on the IFC?

A. I’m Matei; I am a member of the IFC. I’m an IFATC controller, and I’m in many VAs.

Q. Why did you want to start Avianca Virtual, and how did you do it?

A. I started working on Avianca Virtual because I love this livery! It is gorgeous. I started small but then got my team, and the VA began growing bit by bit.

Q. What makes Avianca a Unique virtual airline in Infinite Flight?

A. I think my virtual airline is unique because it can deliver realism and professionalism while still keeping the funny and chill side.

Q. How is Avianca Virtual doing today?

A. Today, Avianca Virtual is doing really great. I already have some members. I have a super team that never lets me down and always helps a lot!

Q. What do you offer to the pilots who choose to fly with Avianca Virtual, and how are you continuing to grow?

A. We offer our members hundreds of routes and tens of aircraft and codeshares to explore. We have routes and destinations worldwide ranging from a 30-minute flight to a 15-hour flight. We are always looking for ways to improve to hopefully be one of the biggest VAs in Infinite Flight.
